Terms of Service

By using MyCitizenPrep ("the Service"), you agree to the following terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Service Description

MyCitizenPrep is a web-based study tool that helps users prepare for the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) naturalization civics test. The Service provides flashcards, practice quizzes, progress tracking, and question review features based on the official USCIS civics test questions.

2. Eligibility

This Service is designed for adults aged 18 and older. Users under 18 may use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By registering, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the Service. The parent or guardian agrees to be responsible for the minor's use of the Service and to be bound by these Terms.

3. Pricing and Payment

MyCitizenPrep offers a free preview of 10 questions. Full access to all questions is available for a one payment of $19.95 (USD). This is not a subscription and no recurring charges will be made. Payment is processed securely through Stripe. You will not be charged until you explicitly complete the checkout process. There are no hidden fees, no ads, and no upsells.

The USCIS civics test questions are public information published by the United States government and freely available at uscis.gov. Your $19.95 fee is for access to the MyCitizenPrep study platform — including smart study tools, audio narration, practice tests, interactive games, and progress tracking — not for the questions themselves. This fee is separate from the USCIS naturalization filing fee (Form N-400). MyCitizenPrep does not process, file, or assist with immigration applications.

4. Account Inactivity and Expiration

Your paid account remains active as long as you log in at least once every 180 days. Each login resets the 180-day timer. If you do not log in for 180 consecutive days, your account and all associated study progress will be permanently deleted.

Before deletion, we will send reminder emails at 30, 15, 7, 3, 2, and 1 day(s) before your account expires. These reminders will be sent to the email address associated with your account. It is your responsibility to ensure your email address is current and that you check these notifications.

If your account is deleted due to inactivity, you may create a new account, but you will be required to pay the $19.95 fee again. Previous study progress cannot be recovered.

5. No Legal Advice; No Attorney-Client Relationship

MyCitizenPrep is a study aid only. The Service does not provide legal advice, immigration counsel, or any form of professional guidance. All content, including study materials, glossary entries, and educational articles addressing immigration topics such as the N-400 application process, is provided for general informational and educational purposes only and is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney or DOJ-accredited representative who has reviewed your specific situation. Reading this content does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and MyCitizenPrep, its owners, employees, or contractors. For legal questions regarding your immigration status, naturalization process, eligibility, or filing decisions, consult a qualified immigration attorney or DOJ-accredited representative. You assume all responsibility for decisions you make based on the content of this Service.

6. No Outcome Guarantee

While MyCitizenPrep is designed to help you prepare for the USCIS civics test, we do not guarantee that using the Service will result in passing the test. Test outcomes depend on many factors beyond the scope of this Service, including the English language component, the N-400 interview, and USCIS officer discretion. Test content and format may change without notice by USCIS.

7. Content Accuracy

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that all questions and answers are accurate and up to date. However, some answers (such as the names of current government officials) may change over time. We regularly audit time-sensitive content, but we cannot guarantee that every answer is current at all times. If you notice an error, please contact us.

8. Account Terms

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You may not share your account with others or allow others to access the Service using your credentials. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abusive behavior, or attempt to circumvent the payment system.

9. Refund Policy

Because the Service offers a free preview of 10 questions before purchase, all sales are final. If you experience a verifiable technical issue that prevents you from accessing paid content, contact us and we will work to resolve the issue. In cases of demonstrable technical failure on our end, refunds may be issued at our sole discretion.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MyCitizenPrep and its owner(s) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to: failure to pass the USCIS civics test, loss of study progress due to account inactivity, or reliance on any content provided by the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid ($19.95).

11. Intellectual Property

The USCIS civics test questions are public domain material published by the United States government. The Service's design, code, branding, user interface, and original content (including study tools, progress algorithms, and marketing materials) are the property of MyCitizenPrep and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without written permission.

12. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered in accordance with applicable rules, with the arbitration taking place in the State of California. You agree to waive any right to a jury trial or class action.

13. AI-Generated Content

All images on MyCitizenPrep are AI-generated illustrations created for educational purposes. These images are artistic representations and should not be considered photographs or accurate depictions of actual locations, people, or events. While we strive for educational accuracy in our text content, AI-generated visuals are used to enhance the learning experience and may differ from real-world appearances. The civics questions and answers are sourced from official USCIS materials; images are supplementary illustrations only.

14. User Reviews

Registered users may optionally submit reviews about their experience with MyCitizenPrep from their dashboard. By submitting a review, you confirm that it represents your honest experience and grant MyCitizenPrep a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, reproduce, and display your review on our landing page and marketing materials, alongside your display name and state (if provided). We reserve the right to make minor edits for grammar, length, or clarity without altering the substance of your review. We may choose not to publish any review at our discretion. You may request removal of your published review by contacting [email protected]; deletion of your account will also remove any associated reviews. Reviews must reflect genuine experiences in accordance with applicable FTC advertising guidelines.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. For material changes, we will notify registered users via email.
